The Free Library offers a wide variety of titles ranging from children’s fiction to poetry and plays to nonfiction.
This year, more than 50,000 children’s workbooks have been available for download, according to the organization.
The nonprofit group says its mission is to ensure that every child has access to quality learning materials.
Some of the most popular titles available are:”The Journey to Mars,” written by T.S. Eliot, a classic science fiction story that won the Pulitzer Prize for literature in 1947; “The Day My Boyhood Was Lost,” written and illustrated by Jane Austen, published in 1835; and “Cinderella,” a fairy tale from the 17th century written by Anne Lamott, published by HarperCollins in 2014.
The Free Book Project also offers a free digital version of some of the books available for the free download, called the Free Book Online Collection.
It includes more than 20,000 titles for free downloads, according the organization, which also offers digital editions of children’s literature for free.
The nonprofit is working with local libraries and other partners to digitize and make available free works for free, it said in a statement.
